Abstract
The study of growing media for lady slipper (Paphiopedilum concolor) production aimed to determine suitable growing media. The study was conducted in 80 % green cloth shade house at Chanthaburi Horticultural Research Center between October 2004 and September 2007. Lady Slipper growing on 6 kings of growing media is the mixture of pumice, composted rain tree leaves, coconut husk and charcoal at 1:2:0.5:1, red brick made from clay, composted rain tree leaves, coconut husk and charcoal at 1:2:0.5:1, red brick made from clay composted groundnut husk, sand and charcoal at 1:1:0.5:1, small rock, composted, loam, sand and groundnut husk at 1:1:0.5:1, coconut shell, composted leaves, foam pieces and charcoal at 1:1:0.5:1, red brick made from clay composted foam pieces : charcoal and small rock at 1:0.5:1:1. Results showed that lady slipper could grow well in the mixture of red brick made from clay, composted rain tree leaves, coconut husk and charcoal at 1:2:0.5:1 and did not show any difference from the mixture of pumice, composted rain tree leaves, coconut husk and charcoal at 1:2:0.5:1 the media used for commercial grown . The replacement of red brick made from clay to pumice could reduce media cost from 5.25 to 2.41 Bath par pot and easily fewed in the eastern Thailand. It may suggested that the materials used for growing media of lady slipper should help drainage and ventilation, well keeping moisture longer used, free of diseases and non – toxic to the plants. Moreover, They should be found easily and inexpensive.
บทคัดย่อ
การศึกษาวัสดุปลูกสำหรับการปลูกเลี้ยงกล้วยไม้รองเท้านารีเหลืองปราจีน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อหาชนิดของวัสดุปลูกที่เหมาะสมในการปลูกเลี้ยงกล้วยไม้รองเท้านารี ดำเนินการทดลองที่ศูนย์วิจัยพืชสวนจันทบุรี ระหว่างเดือนตุลาคม 2547 – กันยายน 2550 โดยทดลองปลูกกล้วยไม้รองเท้านารีในวัสดุปลูก 6 ชนิด ได้แก่ หินภูเขาไฟ:ใบก้ามปูหมัก:เปลือกมะพร้าวสับ:ถ่าน อัตราส่วน 1:2:0.5:1, อิฐแดงทุบ:ใบก้ามปูหมัก:เปลือกมะพร้าวสับ:ถ่าน อัตราส่วน 1:2:0.5:1, อิฐแดงทุบ:เปลือกถั่วลิสง:ทรายหยาบ:ถ่าน อัตราส่วน 1:1:0.5:1, หินเกร็ด:ดินร่วน:ทรายหยาบ:เปลือกถั่วลิสง อัตราส่วน 1:1:0.5:1, กะลามะพร้าว:ใบไม้ผุ:โฟมหัก:ถ่าน อัตราส่วน 1:1:0.5:1 และอิฐแดงทุบ:โฟมหัก:ถ่าน:หินเกร็ด อัตราส่วน 1:0.5:1:1 พบว่าวัสดุปลูกที่มีส่วนผสมของอิฐแดงทุบ : ใบก้ามปูหมัก : เปลือกมะพร้าวสับ : ถ่าน อัตราส่วน 1:2:0.5:1 เป็นวัสดุปลูกที่ทำให้รองเท้านารีมีการเจริญเติบโตดี สมบูรณ์ แข็งแรงและมีการออกดอกสวยงามมีความสมบูรณ์ต้นเฉลี่ย 72.98% ไม่ต่างจากวัสดุปลูกที่นิยมใช้เป็นการค้าในปัจจุบันที่มีส่วนผสมของหินภูเขาไฟ : ใบก้ามปูหมัก : เปลือกมะพร้าวสับ : ถ่าน อัตราส่วน 1:2:0.5:1 มีความสมบูรณ์ต้น 73.06% และยังมีราคาต้นทุนของวัสดุปลูกที่ต่ำกว่ามีต้นทุน 2.41 บาท/กระถาง และหาซื้อง่ายในท้องถิ่น นอกจากนี้วัสดุปลูกที่สามารถเลือกใช้ในการปลูกรองเท้านารีและหาซื้อง่ายในท้องถิ่น ได้แก่ วัสดุปลูกที่มีส่วนผสมของอิฐแดงทุบ : เปลือกถั่วลิสง : ทรายหยาบ : ถ่าน, หินเกล็ด : ดินร่วน : ทรายหยาบ : เปลือกถั่วลิสง, กะลามะพร้าว : ใบไม้ผุ : โฟมหัก : ถ่าน อัตรา 1:1:0.5:1 ทำให้รองเท้านารีมีความสมบูรณ์ต้นระหว่าง 71.52-73.95% ซึ่งการที่จะเลือกใช้วัสดุปลูกชนิดใดนั้นควรคำนึงถึงคุณสมบัติของวัสดุปลูกควรมีคุณสมบัติในการช่วยระบายน้ำและอากาศได้ดี เก็บความชื้นได้ดี อายุการใช้งานนาน ไม่จำเป็นต้องมีแร่ธาตุที่จำเป็นต่อพืช ไม่เป็นแหล่งสะสมโรคและคราบเกลือ หรือปลดปล่อยสารพิษให้กับราก ควรเป็นวัสดุที่หาง่ายและราคาถูก
